Sally Savage (CPsychol, AFBPsS) – Consultant Chartered Clinical Psychologist
Sally is a Consultant Chartered Clinical Psychologist who qualified with the University of Leicester in 1988. She has over 25 years experience in the NHS where she was the Lead Professional for Psychological Therapies responsible for providing Psychology Services for the population of Northamptonshire. She has worked, and continues to work, with adults and adolescents, couples and families in Outpatient Psychology Services, in Primary Care (GP surgery) and Community Mental Health Teams.
Sally’s extensive clinical experience is wide and varied. She moved into independent private practice full time in 2013. Here services are provided using an integrative approach based on Cognitive Behavioural and Schema focussed interventions (an active collaborative approach between client and therapist), but also using less directive, explorative approaches where appropriate or requested.
Help for issues associated with Eating Disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorders), depression, stress and anxiety, self esteem, personal relationships, health related issues, work issues and trauma (including PTSD and early childhood trauma), alcohol, drug and addiction – amongst others – are available.
Sally provides Critical Incident Support for NHS staff following traumatic events and staff support services for companies and other health providers.
Sally is a nationally known specialist in the treatment of Eating Disorders and was responsible for developing and clinically leading the county’s NHS Eating Disorders Service for Adults and Adolescents for over twenty years. She has contributed to national guidance on standards for treatment and has provided teaching, training and supervision in the area.
