Lianne qualified as a Holistic Massage Therapist, then went on to study chiropractic and graduated from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Oxfordshire. Lianne has also undertaken further training in Soft Tissue Release and found that this can work very well in conjunction with chiropractic.
Lianne has seen a range of people, including sports people and gym-goers, manual labourers, office workers, hairdressers and those in their later years. People have presented with a wide range of complaints, the most common of which have been back pain, neck pain, headaches, shoulder pain and hip and knee pain.
Chiropractic using the McTimoney method is a gentle, effective technique which is used to help with a range of complaints including back pain, neck pain and headaches. Using gentle, precise adjustments, your chiropractors aim is to optimise the function of the nervous system by working with the muscular and skeletal systems in order to aid recovery, optimise movement and reduce pain.
Due to its gentle nature, McTimoney Chiropractic is suitable for all ages from all walks of life. So whether you have had a long-standing problem or are struggling as a result of a recent sports injury, chiropractic can help to optimise your health and get you back to doing the things you enjoy.
The treatments are carried out in a quiet and confidential environment.
It may be necessary to remove some items of clothing, particularly during the initial assessment. However, during follow-up appointments, if you would be more comfortable then it is acceptable to wear a vest-top or t-shirt and shorts, jogging bottoms or leggings. Jeans and other bulky clothes are not ideal.
New Patient Assessment
Duration: 1.5 hours
During your initial assessment visit, details of the problem causing you pain or discomfort will be taken, and testing will be carried out in order to identify the route cause of the problem. A medical history will also be taken, so if you are taking any medication it is useful if you can bring the details of this with you. Once the assessment has been completed, if both parties are happy we will proceed with a treatment.
Follow Up Appointments
Duration: 40 minutes
A short course of treatments may be required initially; the number of appointments and the amount of time between them will vary for each individual. Most people require 3 – 5 treatments initially, and then continue to attend for a check-up treatment approximately every 1 – 3 months. In addition, you may be given some stretching or muscle strengthening exercises to carry out at home, in order to aid recovery and help to prevent the same problem from reocurring.
