Senior Clinical Psychologist and Chartered Psychologist

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Social Care Professionals Council (HCPC). I completed my training in clinical psychology at Leicester University in 2014. I have extensive experience in the NHS, private and charitable organisations, working with children and young people, families, adults, staff teams and students.

I have worked in a range of therapeutic areas including neuropsychological rehabilitation, adult mental health, learning disability, child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) and paediatric psychology services. I am currently a Senior Clinical Psychologist within the NHS, working with adults experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties. I also have extensive experience working with children and young people in both mental and physical health settings. I have worked alongside several medical specialities at both Birmingham Childrens Hospital and Leicester Royal Infirmary supporting young people, and their families, who have been diagnosed with chronic and life limiting health condition.

I have experience working with a broad range of psychological difficulties including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, gender identity and sexuality and the psychological impact of illness and injury. I also have experience in providing structured cognitive and neuropsychological assessment across all ages. Clinically, I use a person centred approach, and integrate a number of psychological approaches appropriate to individual needs. I draw on a theoretical background of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), compassion focussed (CFT) and acceptance and commitment approaches (ACT).

Academically, I am an Associate Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Northampton. I am also a Consultant Practitioner, providing training, reflective practice, supervision and support for staff teams on a range of psychosocial needs. I am currently undergoing specialist training in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Bristol. This is in part fulfilment of my accreditation with the British Psychological Society as a registered Clinical Neuropsychologist (QiCN). I am currently training with the BPS as an expert witness.
